International Students Leadership & Mentoring Program Fall 2026

Equipping high capacity, Christian international students in NYC today to accelerate disciple-making among the unreached, tomorrow.

Eligibility for the Pilot Training & Mentoring Program

  • Christian international student currently studying or soon to study in NYC school

  • Christian young adult, between 21-30 years of age at the time of application.

  • Of strong Christian faith, in good standing within their local church.

  • Has been granted acceptance into a NYC Metro Area university and can provide the appropriate documentation, is granted the appropriate student visa for two years.

  • Can demonstrate financial independence for tuition and living expenses while enrolled for a minimum of two years. (Students who can demonstrate financial need are eligible to be considered for tuition scholarships)

  • Must remain enrolled and in good standing at a university for the two consecutive years that they are a part of the program (to retain their student visa).  

  • Be able to demonstrate former ministry experience within their local context

  • Demonstrates a passion for evangelism and discipleship, particularly among the peoples of the world with the least access to the Gospel. 

  • Has completed their bachelor degree with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Priority is given to those who:

  • Are entering a graduate or PhD program.

  • Can articulate a compelling vision for future ministry after they have completed their studies and OPT.

  • Can articulate the impact of their future ministry on those within the unreached people group classification, such as which is measured by Joshua Project, or those who are particularly vulnerable or marginalized (such as those impacted by human trafficking). 

  • Demonstrate that they are high potential, high capacity young leaders, with the ability to be in graduate school full time while also enrolled in this program.  There will be very little outside free time.

Application Open: January to July 2026 Applications Reviewed, Invitations Extended- June-August 2026

Application Process:

  • Complete the Interest Form here

  • We will email you the formal Application Form 

  • References: Provide five letters of reference (local pastor, family member, friend, mentor, and community leader) (if the student is coming from a context where there is no church/pastor, other references will be accepted)

  • Finances: Provide the requested documentation of financial independence for the duration of the two year residential program. If applicable, fill out the request for a SA-WCH tuition scholarship.

  • Essay: Write an essay of three to five pages, explaining their vision for future ministry and how they believe their participation in the SA-WCH Residential Mentoring Program will contribute towards their growth, training, and Kingdom-focused future impact.  

  • Video: Create a video introducing yourself, your friends/family, your community context, your vision for the future God has called you to, and anything else you’d like to add.  Creativity and innovation is encouraged. 15 minutes maximum length.  Upload here

  • Multiple interviews with selection committee

Selection Process:

  • Student must submit all requested documents and video, in full, by the published deadline.

  • SA-WCH will send a letter of acknowledgement of the individuals’ application.

  • The application materials are organized and submitted to the Board-Appointed Selection Committee.

  • The Selection Committee enters a time of review of materials and discussion.

  • A select group of applicants will be granted interviews with the Selection Committee. Several rounds of interviews may be necessary.

  • After interviews, final selections are made and participants are notified of acceptance.
